Who Can Access Your Facebook Profile?

Just when you thought you had locked down your Facebook privacy settings, there’s word that, in fact, your profile may be readily accessible to third-parties including advertisers.

BBC reported on this story today: Facebook profile access ‘leaked’ claims Symantec

What this means is that every time you used an app on Facebook and gave them access to your profile, they also gained the ability to pass on that access to someone else – access that includes your profile, your photos and the ability to post messages on your wall. Yet another reason to remember the cardinal rule of social networking and the Internet. If it’s something you would want to keep private or limit access to – don’t post it at all!
